Passion and charisma...
Julian Hauptmann was born in Bad Windsheim in 1989 and gained his first musical experience in the Windsbach Boys' Choir. He still owes significant musical inspiration to the then-director, Karl-Friedrich Beringer. He initially studied singing with Professor Charlotte Lehmann in Hanover. In 2014, he became a member of the ensemble at the Hamburg Chamber Opera.
In 2016, Hauptmann began studying conducting with Music Director Stefan Fraas in Bayreuth. Even during his time in Bayreuth, he regularly worked with professional orchestras such as the Vogtland Philharmonic and the Young Philharmonic Orchestra of Lower Saxony. In August 2020, he founded the Young Orchestra of Hanover, with whom he made his debut in Hildesheim in October 2020, performing Johannes Brahms's Requiem. From 2020 to 2022, Hauptmann studied orchestral conducting at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire as a scholarship holder. He graduated with distinction in July 2022. In June 2021, he won the Guy Woolfenden Prize for young conductors. In August 2021, he was a semifinalist at the Ionel Perlea International Conducting Competition.
His passion is especially for choral singing. He has been closely associated with the Acûstico chamber choir as artistic director since its founding in 2013. Since July 2023, Julian Hauptmann has been artistic director of the renowned Amadeus Choir Neuendettelsau.
