Julian Hauptmann was born in Bad Windsheim in 1989 and had his first musical experiences in the Windsbacher Boys' Choir. He still owes important musical inspiration to the then director Karl-Friedrich Beringer. He first studied singing with Professor Charlotte Lehmann in Hanover. In 2014 he became a member of the ensemble at the Hamburg Chamber Opera.
In 2016, he began studying conducting with GMD Stefan Fraas in Bayreuth. Even during his time in Bayreuth, he worked regularly with professional orchestras such as the "Vogtland Philharmonie" or the "Young Philharmonic Orchestra of Lower Saxony". In August 2020, he founded the "Young Orchestra of Hanover", with which he made his debut in Hildesheim in October 2020 with Johannes Brahms' Requiem. From 2020 to 2022, Hauptmann studied "Orchestral Conducting" at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire as a scholarship holder. He graduated with distinction in July 2022. In June 2021, he won the "Guy Woolfenden Prize" for young conductors. In August 2021, he was a semi-finalist in the "Ionel Perlea International Conducting Competition
His passion is especially for choral singing. He has been closely associated with the Acûstico chamber choir as artistic director since its founding in 2013. Since July 2023, Julian Hauptmann has been artistic director of the renowned AmadeusChor Neuendettelsau.
